Instructions for Yantra meditation :
Yantra Tantra
- Never hang the Yantra on a wall. Place it on a wooden board (Pitha).
- Yantra should be placed slightly slanting backword, facing a little upward.
- adopt your favorite posture (Padmasan or Sukhasan) maintaining your spine straight
- let the breath flow normally
- look into the center of the Yantra, trying to blink as rarely as possible and observe the whole Yantra at once
- this exercise should last at least 15-30 minutes every day.
- within eleven days of Yantra meditation you will be able to tap into the same yantric energy.
- maintain a state of aspiration and intense longing for experiencing the beatific energies of the consciousness
- in superior phases the Yantra absorbs the practitioner's complete attention, and he/she will feel the Yantra is within himself or if he is within the Yantra (state of nonduality).
- Yantras should always be used on the level above ground. If drawn on paper the colours preferable are red, orange, yellow or a combination of these. A yantra without bija mantras is dead. They can be drawn to whatever size is required.
- Internal meditations: Yantras may also be visualised internally. That, for example, is the case with the Shri Yantra, with the different mandalas starting at the base of the spine and going to the top of the head.
- Without Guru and proper pronounciation of Mantra, there is no use of doing these exercise.
